We were commissioned by Cheshire East Council to capture the creation of a new mural dedicated to the musician, Ian Curtis in his home town of Macclesfield. The mural itself was created by the talented artist, Akse, and we sough to capture the full creative process from beginning to end.
The creation of the mural was a poignant moment for the people of Macclesfield, as it sough to celebrate one of its most famous musical sons. As lead singer of Joy Division, Ian Curtis' lyrics spoke to a generation and their impact in music continues to be felt across the world.
The film sought to tap into the emotions and reactions of the people of both Macclesfield and beyond as they saw the mural for the first time.

The flexible and innovative approach of Squeaky Pedal delivered impressive timelapse videography of an iconic town centre mural to create short films, also capturing vox pops from the public. They are super friendly and approachable, responded to short timescales for proposal, planning and production and delivered above and beyond. The complementary creative skills within the team meant they were also able to produce musical soundtracks for the films. Squeaky Pedal were safe hands to steer the creative direction of the project and deliver exactly what we needed, and we are really pleased with the films they created.
