Squeaky Pedal is an award-winning heritage film, animation and TV production company. Working with museums, cultural institutions and broadcasters.

Creating content that inspires, communicates, and connects with all audiences, from heartfelt human interest stories, to uncovering remarkable forgotten history. Through producing high-impact documentaries, motion graphics, animations, and immersive museum content, we take pride in our robust collaborative approach and our ability to be able to bring a project of any size to life.

All projects are developed in house from concept, to research, to realisation. We work across the board as researchers, writers, directors and producers, giving a bespoke feel to all of our work.

Our talented team consists of musicians, designers and artists, giving us a unique insight into a wide range of creative processes. This means that creativity, heritage and the arts plays a large part in all of our lives, and we understand the important role that they play in creating a thriving connected community anywhere across the country.

We also have a huge array of experience working with a diverse range of communities and celebrating extraordinary stories that exist in the seemingly day to day. Our approach ensures the development of strong and positive working relationships with partners and participants.

Our clients range from national museums to governmental bodies and major broadcasters to a variety of established businesses such as National Army Museum, Historic England, Heritage Open Days, Cadw, Channel 5 and the Imperial War Museums.

Pete Roch.

Director / Producer

Pete has over 10 years experience of working as an award winning filmmaker. He has collaborated widely with creative organisations from numerous backgrounds, including community musical projects, dance groups and schools. His sensitive approach to filmmaking ensures all footage is captured effectively and with minimal impact to clients or customer schedules or business.

Specialising in recording and producing film and audio for immersive heritage projects, he has brought his wealth of experience to podcasts, film soundscapes and creating original music. His expertise with a wide variety of film equipment and eye for detail enables the capture of engaging and dynamic shots that enthrall audiences and perfectly convey the look and feel of any project brief.

He also has extensive experience in project management and client engagement, working with clients at various stages to ensure the successful delivery of content that exceeds expectations. This approach has proved successful on a number of recent projects for major organisations such as Historic England with a nationwide scope. For these projects, the ability to effectively plan, execute and manage complex filming schedules and ensure all actions fall within strict budgetary requirements, guarantees a smooth production timeline.

Director / Producer

Jason is an experienced lead researcher and writer with a passion for telling stories. His diligent and exacting approach to the use of documents and insightful interviews has helped create award winning historical documentaries, podcasts, articles and exhibition content for museums and organisations across the country. Making no assumptions through production, he works closely with the project team and the client to ensure the project approach and output are both created with ease in a collaborative atmosphere.

His exacting approach for discovering the extraordinary in the day to day through personable and relatable interview technique has led to the capture of truly remarkable stories. Building strong relationships with clients and interviewees ensuring they are comfortable and have the confidence to tell their story and share their own passions on screen.

His excellent understanding and experience of archival licencing, permissions and costing from archive houses across the globe have proved crucial on recent TV commissions with a worldwide broadcast scope. Creating unique, powerful, multipurpose cost effective outputs produced to exacting requirements that engage and resonate with audiences from all backgrounds and age groups.
