We were commissioned by English Heritage to capture a unique youth-led event at JW Evans Silver Factory in Birmingham – one of the most complete surviving historic factories of its kind.
The project brought local young people into the heart of the site to explore its stories, respond creatively, and reimagine its future. We documented the full day: from hands-on activities and group discussions to moments of quiet reflection in the atmospheric surroundings.
Our film balances the heritage of the building with the voices and energy of the young participants – showing how even the most traditional spaces can inspire new generations. It was produced with careful attention to safeguarding, consent, and on-the-day flexibility – all while retaining a warm, observational style that reflects the spirit of the event.
