We were commissioned by the Museum of Gloucester to create a series of engaging short films to celebrate the much-anticipated reopening of the museum after prolonged closure due to lockdown restrictions. These films played a vital role in reconnecting the museum with its community, showcasing its exhibits, and reigniting public interest in its rich history and cultural offerings.
Designed for maximum impact, the films were shared across the Museum of Gloucester’s social media channels, reaching diverse audiences and spreading the excitement of the reopening far and wide. The primary goal of the project was to convey the museum's joy and enthusiasm for welcoming visitors back through content that was both fun and inviting.
To achieve this, we adopted a light-hearted and playful tone, using characters from different historical eras to create engaging narratives. These characters interacted directly with the audience, bringing the museum's exhibits to life in a relatable and entertaining way. This approach was particularly effective in sparking curiosity among younger viewers, encouraging them to explore history in an approachable and exciting manner.
The films not only highlighted key exhibits but also reflected the museum's vibrant personality, ensuring that the reopening felt like a celebration. By blending humor, historical storytelling, and visually engaging elements, the project successfully captured the attention of a broad audience and positioned the museum as a lively and welcoming cultural hub.
This project demonstrates how digital content can bridge the gap between heritage institutions and their audiences, even during challenging times, ensuring that history remains accessible, relevant, and engaging for all.
